The Dual Voltage Home

If you have any comments or questions, please let me know. email me, I am really interested in hearing what you have to say, both good and bad

Thanks,

So here is my idea. I believe part of what makes the LED bulbs so expensive is the adding the transformer to change the AC to DC. Maybe we could eliminate that by actually having DC circuits in the house. Most homes are wired so that the lighting is on 15 amp breakers, using 14/2 wire and the receptacles are on 20 amp breakers using 12/2 wire.

What if?
What if we replace the 120VAC biulbs with LED's, and feed those circuits off of a DC power source? The power source could be either an AC-> DC converter, or even a 12vDC deep-cycle battery. The battery could be recharged using a solar panel.
